Dalton Civitan Club Donates Funds to Dalton State

The Dalton Civitan Club has made a gift to the Dalton State Foundation in support of student scholarships.

“The Dalton Civitan Club is one of our oldest donors, and their history with us goes all the way back to the College’s beginning in 1967,” said David Elrod, Dalton State Foundation director. “The Club has shown its interest in supporting hard-working and deserving students with a generous gift to the Foundation, and Civitan’s partnership with us in providing access to higher education opportunities is a point of pride for both organizations.”

The gift is made in support of students in Dalton State’s School of Science, Technology & Mathematics.

“Two-thirds of our students seek need-based financial aid in order to attend classes here at one of the most affordable colleges in the country,” Elrod said. “That shows that donors like the Dalton Civitan Club can and do have an immediate impact when they give to Dalton State.”

Donors interested in learning more about scholarship opportunities at Dalton State may contact the Dalton State Foundation at 706-272-4473 or at foundation@daltonstate.edu.
